Family don’t always take on to a gay member of the clan. Some get mad, some even kick their kids out of the house. Opinions exist, cultures are vastly different from one another. One thing that is such a sad realization to see in this world is a lack of compassion for such a  ‘whats the big deal’ kind of thing as happening to like something out of the norm.

Ahmet Yildiz‘ father killed him for being gay. Living an openly gay life in Turkey proved deadly. His murder was considered by his father and the community as a ‘gay honor’ killing and he traveled a long distance to kill him. No words…

Good Good! Unfortunately California taught us public referendums will not work. The public seems to want to choke the freedom out of us! This is a great victory the courts have spoken, you have no right to put Gay rights as a matter of public referendums. We have a right to have a right to marry as we like, and it will not be decided by the people! It will be decided by the courts and I hope the courts will see the injustice that is being done to us, how can you legally bind people based on biblical values congrats!

A D.C. Superior Court judge ruled Thursday that same-sex marriage opponents do not have a right to hold a public referendum on whether those marriages should be legal in the District.

The ruling, a major victory for gay rights activists, makes it more likely that the District will start allowing same-sex couples to marry in March.

The D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics has twice ruled that a referendum or initiative on same-sex marriage would violate a city law prohibiting a public vote on a matter covered by the Human Rights Act, which outlaws discrimination against gay men and lesbians and other minority groups.

But Bishop Harry Jackson, pastor of Hope Christian Church in Beltsville, appealed that ruling in superior court. Last week, 39 GOP congressmen filed a brief in support of Jackson’s appeal, arguing that the elections board overstepped its authority in denying a public vote on whether marriage should be defined as a being between a man and a woman. I think its the most beautiful gift someone could give to another human being. A women is venerated for the fact that she is physically mainly involved in the creation of human life. For a women to give up something that’s she is naturally made to keep, is hard to understand. But it is hard to understand two men and two women together, these concept are fresh as A status quo. I know homosexual behaviour is evident from thousands of years prior, I am referring to integration.  Gay couples have it very hard to find women that consciously want to give their creations, those that do give us a gift with love. I have someone I love and who knows maybe someday I will  find a women that will give us the gift of a child made from our own seed. I must say I am conflicted because I kind of feel many kids remain without homes, it would be nice for us to be able to help them as well as our desire to populate the world. But some possibilities for now are not options.

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 10 (UPI) — A 41-year-old lesbian Utah legislator is pregnant with a baby she says she is carrying for two gay men, the intended parents.

Rep. Christine Johnson, D-Salt Lake, who has a 17-year-old daughter

of her own with an ex-husband, is 16 weeks pregnant after have been inseminated with the sperm from one of the men, the Salt Lake Tribune reported Friday.

“I can very much empathize with their desire to become parents and share their lives with and open their hearts to a child. I’m immeasurably grateful to be a mother,” Johnson said.

LOS ANGELES — After a run of setbacks at the state level, gay rights advocates will take the campaign for same-sex marriage into a federal courtroom on Monday, starting down a treacherous avenue that ends at a U.S. Supreme Court dominated by conservatives.

“It’s a high-stakes poker move, no doubt about that,” said Jane Schacter, a professor of constitutional law at Stanford University. “I think the calculation for a long time has been that it’s hard to count five votes in favor of same-sex marriage on the current Supreme Court.”

Two couples are asking Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker to rule that same-sex marriage is a right embedded in the Constitution, and that it was violated last year when California voters passed a ballot measure confining matrimony to members of the opposite sex.

Lady Gaga was recently confronted by a fan after a concert in an Ottawa club for being friends with openly gay ‘American Idol’ star Adam Lambert.

According to the National Enquirer Lady Gaga was partying with friends when a drunken man confronted her saying; “I saw you and Adam Lambert on the AMA show, and the guy’s a flaming {explicit} — and I also think that you’re actually a man!”

Reportedly Gaga fired back: “Well, that’s your opinion, isn’t it? And I’m not about to waste my time trying to change it.”

Mexico City’s Legislative Assembly became the first legislative body in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage on Monday, December 21.

The bill changes the definition of marriage in the city’s Civil Code. Marriage is currently defined as the union of a man and a woman. The new definition will be ‘the free uniting of two people.’

The new law also allows same-sex couples to adopt children, apply for bank loans together, inherit each other’s property, and be included in the insurance policies of their spouse. While Mexico City passed a same-sex civil union law in December 2006, these rights were denied to same-sex couples. Read More……

The year is wrapping up with some success, disappointments and real important lessons. If we ever had any doubt about the need to fend for ourselves in our struggle for freedom, this has been the year to reinforce that premise. Our faith in the Democratic party as a ‘be all, end all’ solution for us has been shattered with the inaction in the Obama team and from the Democratic National Committee.

So what is a major or minor donor to do?

We must refuse to contribute to anyone that has not proven their loyalty to the LGBT community. The Democrats claim that strategy will only elect right wing Republicans. For the lack of our support, they would like to make us single handedly responsible for their serious flaws. If they support us, they blame us for their problems and if we don’t support them, they blame us for their problems. Nice game they have going here.

Well, there are places that we can effectively place our money and still be good citizens. Plus, in the process send a powerful message. Here are my guidelines five guidelines to giving:

1. Do not contribute to Democratic party committees like the DNC, DSCC and DCCC. They will use the funds to not only elect our allies but also Blue Dog Democrats. Even if they set up a ’special committee’ for us that will enable them to loosen funds for candidates who are opposed to our freedom.
2. Contribute directly to only those candidates who have proven by either by vote or sponsorships of legislation their commitment to our issues.
3. Contribute to LGBT candidates who most often know how to fight like hell for us. The Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund is one of the most effective groups in Washington,DC.
4. Contribute to our own community and its battles for freedom especially as our young resort to more traditional civil rights tactics.
5. Contribute to defeating our enemies at the local level which is a very powerful message to send those that oppose us.  Read more…….

The D.C. council held its final vote Tuesday on a marriage equality bill, passing it by a wide margin. Mayor Adrian Fenty has pledged to sign the bill, which will go into effect this spring.

The bill passed the council by a vote of 11-2, identical to the vote in November. After Fenty signs the bill, it will have to withstand a 30-day congressional review period.

“I have been making laws on behalf of the citizens of this city for 12 years, and until now, have never been a fully enfranchised citizen,” council member David Catania, the lead sponsor of this bill, said during today’s vote. He thanked several colleagues and gay rights activists who helped him get this bill passed.

Council member Kwame R. Brown also made a passionate speech in support of the bill, pointing out that he has a mother who disagrees with him on the issue — and said as much in TheWashington Post. He said this vote is for the “unborn— future generations who will benefit.   Read more……
